We are looking for a Food & Beverage Supervisor who understands that it is our team that makes the difference between just a good meal and an incredible experience! This position contributes to Daniel Island Golf Club’s success by serving as a supervisor to the staff while maintaining a focus on consistently providing a memorable experience for our guests and members. This position is expected to be a ‘hands-on' leader assisting management in training, scheduling, motivating, and developing staff members while maintaining a high level of guest service. This position will rotate between all of our F&B service outlets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To support the F&B Manager with the smooth running of the department and take responsibility for the department in their absence
To oversee and lead the team on shift to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the F&B department and that customers are receiving the highest possible standards of service
Assures scheduled staff is present, knowledgeable in that day's duties, and is performing their duties in accordance with established standards.
To ensure the correct set-up of bar/restaurant, food and drink service, event client needs (i.e. room set-up, equipment, etc) and clear down after events
To ensure cleanliness of work areas is maintained
Ensures shift-opening or closing paperwork is timely, complete, and processed per policy.
Establishes good communication between all departments and Food and Beverage staff.
Ensures the facility, equipment and surrounding areas are well maintained and clean.
Continually provides member menu feedback to the culinary department.
Maintains a daily log of operations including cover counts, staff levels, service issues and other relevant topic for future reference.
Assist in monthly inventory.
To assist with staff training and development
QualificationsJOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years previous supervisory experience.
Must have previous server experience
Alcohol awareness certification a plus
Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
Knowledgeable of all liquor laws as well as company and departmental policies regarding consumption of alcoholic beverages
Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
Professional in demeanor and presentation
Personable, enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work independently
Basic mathematical skills, handle money and give correct change.
Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
Must present a neat and professional appearance.
Work requires interactions with customers, public and co-workers.
Be thoroughly familiar with the menus, ingredients and methods of preparation for each dish served as well as the drink menu, wine list, and hours of operation for all food and beverage outlets.
Must be flexible to any work shifts - days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Shifts may vary based on business needs.
