The Olympic Club , a private member athletic and country club in San Francisco, seeks a Food and Beverage Supervisor for our Lakeside Clubhouse. At The Olympic Club, our members enjoy 2 campuses, 19 sports, world-renowned golf courses, exceptional social and athletic programs as well as 18 hotel rooms and 5 Food & Beverage outlets. Our City Clubhouse is located one block from Union Square and within easy walking distance of the Powell Street BART station. Our Lakeside Clubhouse sits next to the ocean on the border of San Francisco and Daly City.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Lakeside Management Team, the Food and Beverage Supervisor oversees and assists with the daily operations of Champions Bar and Main Dining Room. Position will also assist and support banquets and club events.

Position Overview:

Maintain an “on the floor” presence during peak hours and help supervise the overall experience of the members and service. Prepare schedules in coordination with management to meet the needs of the business and comply with the collective bargaining agreement. Hold staff accountable in following Olympic Club service standards. Work with The Olympic Club management team, specifically the Assistant Clubhouse Managers, Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine and Catering Department to ensure food quality, consistency, appearance, and value. Assist with menu updates, specials and updating club website. Ensure compliance with all occupational, health and safety standards, alcohol service laws, and Club policies. Respond to and resolve any member/guest inquiries, issues, concerns, or dining experiences.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise service in the Champions Bar, main dining room, and banquets.
  • Assist in the coordination of banquets and in-house special events with the Catering department. Floor supervision during restaurant and banquet service.
  • Assist with overall direction, execution, coordination, ongoing evaluation of the F&B and Banquet operations.
  • Interact with members and ensure the quality of guest and member service.
  • Maintain reservations via e-mail and phone and make updates to the Club website.
  • Address employee issues on the spot and report them directly to Food and Beverage Director for resolutions.
  • Hold accountable Olympic Club standards and procedures for the Food and Beverage staff including guest service standards and Food and Beverage guidelines set forth by the Food and Beverage Director.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and assist with comprehensive training sessions to include but not limited to service standards, daily operational updates, menu items/specials, and safety.
  • Assist in expediting food in restaurants to monitor consistency and timeliness of service. Manage Northstar POS for food and wine menu revisions.
    • Regular attendance required based on business expectations and needs.
    • Adheres to all federal, state, local and San Francisco laws regarding health, safety, and employment.

Qualifications Required:

  • Candidate should have a passion for creating outstanding guest service experience and be able to ensure that all member requests and expectations are met and exceeded daily.
  • Candidates must be able to work proactively and anticipate service needs well as function team player.
  • Candidate also must be able to think clearly, analyze, and resolve problems in a timely manner, while exercising good judgment in all situations.
  • Additionally, the candidate should have strong computer skills, including Northstar POS, Excel and Outlook and have the ability and knowledge to update the Club website.

Qualifications Desired:

  • Previous supervisory/management experience in a hospitality environment.
  • Works well with a diverse group of employees.

  • Oral and/or written communication skills in Spanish or Tagalog desired.
