The General Manager (GM) is the face of Tatte within our communities and to our guests. The GM is responsible for all facets of front of house cafe operations dedicated to delivering a warm, authentic, and inspiring environment for both guests and team members, thoughtful leadership, and overall cafe performance. Our GMs work side by side with front and back of house teams to drive operational excellence, hospitality, and overall four walls performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

We expect our General Managers to:

  • Lead with professionalism, accountability, and hospitality excellence
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences while upholding Tattes service and operational standards
  • Support and develop managers and hourly team members through coaching and leadership
  • Maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, food safety, and operational execution
  • Drive strong financial and operational performance across the cafe
  • Live Tattes core values and help support our mission
  • Have flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergencies as needed

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate full ownership of cafe operations, including four walls performance and P&L management
  • Model authentic, warm hospitality and foster excellent guest experience standards
  • Ensure cafes are staffed with team members who embody Tattes values and culture
  • Develop managers and hourly team members through coaching, accountability, and performance management
  • Lead and navigate difficult conversations professionally and respectfully
  • Continuously uphold Tatte brand, visual, and operational standards
  • Lead teams through efficient operational execution and shift management
  • Ensure food safety standards are consistently upheld throughout the cafe
  • Lead cafe level communication and change management initiatives
  • Manage food, labor, and controllable costs within company expectations
  • Oversee all cafe administrative responsibilities
  • Other related assignments as necessary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergencies as needed
  • Ability to work 10+ hour shifts and stand, sit, squat, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods of time
  • Ability to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a General Manager, preferably within high volume, full service, or polished fast casual restaurant environments
  • Ability to work effectively within fast paced and evolving environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • High integrity and professionalism
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Preferred

  • Hospitality degree preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Previous experience with UltiPro, Toast POS, CrunchTime, and TeamworX preferred
  • ServSafe, Allergen, and ChokeSaver certifications preferred
