Job Details Los Burritos Juarez is a Michelin recognized, New York Times 1-star rated grab-and-go burrito concept rooted in the culinary tradition of Northern Mexico and the JuarezEl Paso border. We are a counter service restaurant, with every tortilla being hand-rolled to order using our lard-based dough. We are a small but growing team, building something that has already earned recognition at the highest levels of the New York food world. You, our new Kitchen Manager will now become part of that story.

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a Kitchen Manager that will work directly alongside the General Manager and ownership to ensure the kitchen operates at the highest level of efficiency, consistency, and quality.
-You will serve as a mentor to the Prep Lead and the broader kitchen team, setting standards,
developing skills, and building the culture that makes LBJ what it is. This is not a role for someone looking to coast. This is a role for someone who wants to grow with a concept that has real momentum.

KITCHEN LEADERSHIP & OPERATIONS
  • Oversee all kitchen operations during service, ensuring food quality, consistency, and speed meet LBJs standards at all times.
  • Maintain the integrity of all recipes and preparations, no shortcuts, no variations without approval from the Chef or ownership
  • Monitor food quality throughout service and address any inconsistencies immediately
  • Manage line efficiency and station organization during peak service periods
  • Ensure counter service operations run smoothly, speed and accuracy are equally important at LBJ
  • Help coordinate and facilitate deliveries to our wholesale accounts.
MENTORSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT
  • Serve as a direct mentor to the Prep Lead, guiding their development, supporting their growth, and holding them to a high standard
  • Lead by example in all aspects of kitchen culture, work ethic, cleanliness, communication, and respect
  • Train and develop kitchen staff on proper technique, food safety, and LBJs standards
  • Provide consistent feedback to team members and communicate performance concerns to the GM
COLLABORATION WITH MANAGEMENT & OWNERSHIP
  • Work closely with the General Manager and ownership on kitchen efficiency, food cost management, and operational improvements
  • Participate in the ordering and inventory process, providing accurate counts and flagging any supply issues proactively
  • Contribute to the implementation of MarginEdge our restaurant management platform helping to ensure recipes, costs, and prep data are accurately tracked
  • Communicate openly and consistently with the GM nothing should fall through the cracks
FOOD SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
  • Hold a valid NYC Food Handlers Card at all times
  • Ensure all kitchen staff are wearing gloves while cooking and prepping no exceptions
  • Enforce DOH protocol across the entire kitchen team on every shift
  • Maintain three-compartment sink standards, proper labeling and dating, and all food safety requirements
  • Ensure no personal food items are stored in any prep area or walk-in
  • Report any compliance concerns to the GM immediately


Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($60,000.00 - $80,000.00)
