Bar Pisellino is seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven Bar Manager to lead the bar program at Bar Pisellino , our West Village morning-till-late classic Italian bar celebrating larte del bere the art of drinking.

Inspired by the elegant cocktail bars of Florence, Milan, and Venice, Bar Pisellino features exceptional local and seasonal products alongside outstanding cocktails, Italian spirits, amari, wines, beers, and coffees. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who is passionate about Italian bar culture. Who also thrives on the floor, behind the bar, and takes pride in building strong teams to deliver a world-class experience.

Position Overview

The Bar Manager is responsible for the daily leadership and execution of Bar Pisellinos bar program. You will oversee front-of-house bar staff, uphold quality and service standards, and ensure smooth, efficient operations while serving as a role model for hospitality, professionalism, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate bartenders and front-of-house bar staff

  • Foster a positive, respectful, and high-performance team culture

  • Train staff on cocktails, spirits, coffee, service standards, and Bar Pisellinos ethos

  • Lead by example on the floor, delivering exceptional guest experiences

Quality & Standards

  • Ensure all cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and coffees consistently meet Bar Pisellinos quality standards

  • Maintain consistency in preparation, presentation, and execution across all shifts

  • Conduct regular tastings and quality checks

  • Uphold and follow established SOPs for beverage preparation and service

Operations & Organization

  • Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and storage

  • Maintain relationships with vendors and ensure product quality

  • Assist with scheduling and daily operational needs

  • Monitor costs, minimize waste, and support operational efficiency

Creativity & Beverage Passion

  • Support cocktail development and seasonal menu updates

  • Contribute ideas that align with Bar Pisellinos Italian identity and classic approach

  • Stay informed on spirits, cocktails, and bar trends while honoring tradition

Qualifications
  • Experience in a high-caliber cocktail bar; Worlds 50 Best Bars experience or equivalent strongly preferred

  • Strong knowledge of Italian spirits, amari, classic cocktails, and Italian cafe/bar culture

  • 35 years of bar management or senior bar leadership experience

  • Proven ability to maintain high standards while leading a team

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong professional ethics

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($90,000.00 - $110,000.00)
