CLASSIFICATION: SUPPORT STAFF
JOB TITLE: CUSTODIAL MANAGER - HIGH SCHOOL
CALENDAR: 2612H (12 MONTH)
SALARY: GRADE 113 (SUPPORT HOURLY)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: post-offer physical and drug screening test is required for this position
Job Goal:
To oversee and coordinate custodial operations at the high school level, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment that supports student learning and staff productivity. The Custodial Manager leads custodial staff, manages daily workflows, and ensures compliance with district standards for cleanliness, safety, and facility care.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to read and write English as pertains to job functions
Progressively responsible custodial experience
Satisfactory criminal background check
Vision and hearing are adequate to exercise job responsibilities in a safe manner
Core Job Functions:
Perform all duties relating to cleaning the school plant
Direct and monitor the work of custodians and provide training on an ongoing basis
Order custodial supplies
Provide input to the appropriate supervisor for custodian evaluations
Clean classrooms, cafeterias, hallways, restrooms, offices, special area rooms, locker rooms, sidewalks, and parking lots
Sweep, dust, vacuum, scrub, wax, and polish floors
Wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment
Empty trash receptacles
Perform minor repairs
Move furniture and equipment based on the needs of the facility
Replace light bulbs and perform minor maintenance
Follow up on sanitation report deviations
Report safety/security hazards and needs for major repairs in an expeditious manner
Open and secure building/facility
Handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff
Follow district policies as outlined
Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed by supervisors

Mobility and lifting require employees to stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces. They must be able to use a push/pull force of up to 50 pounds for machines and lift items up to 30 pounds. Items over 50 pounds require a second staff member to assist.
Occasional tasks may require an employee to climb ladders for cleaning or maintenance.
Environmental exposures may include travel, fumes, odors, chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, workspace restrictions, and loud noises.
