PURPOSE
The Food & Beverage Banquet Captain is responsible for supporting the ongoing coordination, execution of banquets, and leading a team of servers in special events and tribal events while maintaining a high level of guest service.
SUPERVISORY SCOPE
- Provide guidance during banquet function and setup when Catering Sales Manager is not present
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate, facilitate and support onsite and offsite Food and beverage events.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of various events and banquets, including post analysis and review. Continuing to improve processes which promote the overall property marketing goals and objectives.
- Support Sales manager with the coordination of property collateral, including but not limited to; signage, flyers, banners, coupons, controlled items, advertising pieces, digital information, Sales packets etc.
- Maintain internal processes, inventory and other auditing controls.
- Proficiently support editorial processes, such as; editing, proofing, and production of Banquet Orders and Menus.
- Support ongoing exceptional relations with vendors and outside cooperations in a timely, positive, engaging manner.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service, interpersonal, guest relations including internal service standards and team member relations.
- Lead a team of servers on event days including assigning sections, expediting when needed, ensuring the team is operating cohesively, and assisting in training of new team members.
- Additional duties will be assigned as needed.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD).
- At least three (3) years in Food and Beverage, with two (2) years banquet or event planning experience; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proven proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Experience planning and executing events.
PREFERRED
Education and Experience:
- Four (4) year degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
- Previous experience working with Casino events and promotions.
- Previous experience in a lead or supervisor position.
- Snoqualmie Casino Career Development Track Series completion.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong customer service skills.
