Bench Grocery Manager

Our stores are growing on Long Island and we are in need of a Bench Grocery Manager ! This position will work in our local stores, supporting the Grocery Managers and Grocery Departments on Long Island.

Our Grocery Manager lead employees, order and stock products, manage inventory, check for expiration dates, and provide exceptional customer service to our customers. Additional responsibilities include purchasing, staff management, financial reporting, customer service, and stocking/ displays.

Responsibilities

• Will manage the inventory of the grocery departments with the store department staff, coordinating dates/grocery products/grocery item needs
• Will provide exceptional customer service to our employees, assisting them with questions on products and isle item location
• Will provide training to new and existing employees working within the Grocery Department
• Will work closely with Merchandising staff to ensure proper items and displays are in line with store expectations

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Must have Grocery experience, with 2 of those years working as a Grocery Manager for a large retail store
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must speak, write and communicate in the English language
• This position requires an individual who has a strong eye for detail and a drive for leadership

Working Conditions

• Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
• May require lifting objects up to 50 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 50 pounds with assistance.
• Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
• There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
