A rapidly expanding, high-profile Italian restaurant group with multiple locations across Manhattan is seeking an experienced and polished General Manager to lead one of its flagship properties. This is a senior leadership opportunity within a well-capitalized, growth-oriented hospitality organization with several new concepts launching in 2026.

The Opportunity

As General Manager, you will serve as the operational and cultural anchor of your restaurant setting the tone for service excellence, driving financial performance, and building a team that delivers a consistently outstanding guest experience. This role carries significant autonomy and visibility, with a clear path to multi-unit or Director-level responsibility for high performers.

Responsibilities

  • Full P&L ownership including daily financial reporting, labor management, food cost controls, and waste minimization
  • Beverage program oversight, purchasing, and inventory management
  • Recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and ongoing development of all FOH team members; accountability of BOH leadership
  • Driving and maintaining elevated service standards in a high-volume environment
  • Maintaining an "A" rating with the NYC Health Department through strict adherence to sanitation and safety standards
  • Cultivating and sustaining strong guest relationships, handling escalations with discretion and professionalism
  • Implementing and upholding company systems, standards, and progressive discipline procedures
  • Building a pipeline of strong future managers to promote internal talent in both front and back of house, particularly in support of new restaurant openings
  • Proficiency with restaurant technology platforms including POS (Toast preferred), scheduling, and inventory management systems
  • Collaborating with ownership and senior leadership to contribute to broader operational strategy and company culture
  • Participating in manager rotations for opening and closing

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a General Manager or Director of Operations in a high-end, full-service restaurant
  • Intuitive understanding of full-service, upscale casual dining and extensive food and beverage knowledge
  • Strong financial acumen and demonstrated experience managing P&L
  • Ability to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to operational challenges
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect authentically with a diverse clientele; discretion, integrity, and professionalism are essential
  • NYC Food Protection License (required)
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs
