Position Summary

Kitchen Supervisor

Compensation: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour (experience-based compensation)

The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations for the restaurant, banquet services, market, and bar. This role ensures food quality, consistency, sanitation, safety, and efficient kitchen performance while supporting staff development and operational excellence. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, with the majority of scheduled hours occurring during afternoon shifts.

Essential Functions
  • Provide hands-on training, coaching, and development for kitchen team members.
  • Promote and enforce proper food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety practices.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to established quality standards, portion control requirements, and plate presentation guidelines.
  • Regularly monitor food preparation, plating, and product quality to maintain brand standards.
  • Assist with inventory management and stock control procedures.
  • Supervise daily food preparation activities within assigned kitchen areas.
  • Support purchasing activities, including ordering and receiving food, equipment, and supplies.
  • Review and approve deliveries and maintain appropriate inventory levels of equipment and kitchen supplies.
  • Prepare, stock, rotate, and replenish products to ensure adequate availability while minimizing waste.
  • Maintain compliance with all hotel policies, procedures, and work rules, including those outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Exercise sound judgment and decision-making while working independently and meeting performance expectations.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment and deliver exceptional service to guests.
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with supervisors, peers, and team members.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas before, during, and after meal service periods.
  • Verify that adequate food preparation is completed for all meal periods while minimizing waste through proper planning and production.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, food and beverage meetings, and monthly inventory processes.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.
Education and Experience
  • Previous kitchen or culinary experience required.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a food service or hospitality environment preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of food preparation methods, food handling procedures, and sanitation standards.
  • Current Food Handler Certification or the ability to obtain certification as required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform essential job functions.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards

Additional Responsibilities

  • The hotel operates 24/7, requiring department schedules to adapt to varying business demands. Employees may need to work shifts outside their preferred or usual hours.
  • Employees must comply with all hotel-established work rules, procedures, and policies, including those outlined in the employee handbook.
