What we're looking for
The Manager, Food Services is responsible for Manages Food & Nutrition Services operations to deliver safe, high-quality meal service in compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations. Oversees budgeting, labor and scheduling, purchasing, inventory, sanitation, and required reporting to support efficient department performance.
How you'll contribute
- Manage the department in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and applicable regulations.
- Manage the departmental budget through oversight of operating expenses and labor.
- Oversee department financials and complete required monthly reporting.
- Develop and/or supervise staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage within budgeted FTEs.
- Perform or oversee ordering and receipt of food, supplies, and equipment from approved vendors to maintain adequate stock.
- Oversee stocking and inventory of food and supplies, ensuring proper storage and labeling.
- Monitor kitchen quality and safety: conduct routine quality checks, spot-check logs for accuracy, and complete weekly safety/sanitation audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information:
Collaborates with leadership and interdisciplinary partners to align service levels with patient and facility needs. Maintains documentation to support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance. Supports staff training, coaching, and competency in safe food handling and departmental procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Registered Dietitian (RD); Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR); Certified Dietary Manager (CDM); or Associate degree or higher in food service/restaurant management.
Food Safety Training: Food Protection Manager certification from an ANSI-CFP program (e.g., ServSafe).
Skills/Knowledge: Budgeting and financial reporting; labor and schedule management; purchasing and vendor relations; inventory control and proper storage/labeling; sanitation and safety auditing; regulatory knowledge; strong communication and organization; ability to follow written and oral instructions; professional, tactful interactions with coworkers, physicians, and patients.
Experience managing food services in a healthcare setting (acute care or skilled nursing) highly preferred.
