Evening Shift Manager - Bar & Restaurant
Location: Columbia, MD
Schedule: Evening/Night Shifts | Weekends | Some Holidays
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Pay Range
$22$28 per hour, based on experience
Potential for performance bonuses depending on shift and responsibilities
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and experienced Evening Shift Manager to lead our bar and restaurant operations during night service. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, ideal for someone who thrives in hospitality, leads by example, and ensures both exceptional guest experiences and smooth staff operations.
Responsibilities
* Oversee all evening bar and restaurant operations
* Supervise, motivate, and support front-of-house and bar staff
* Ensure excellent guest service and promptly resolve any issues
* Manage staff schedules, breaks, and shift coverage
* Handle cash drawers, nightly reports, and closing procedures
* Maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health and alcohol regulations
* Enforce company policies and service standards
* Lead with clear expectations around punctuality, cleanliness, preparedness, accountability, and communication
* Monitor comps, voids, and discounts and address any misuse
* Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and ownership/management
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a shift manager, supervisor, or lead in a bar or restaurant
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
* Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling
* Must be dependable and punctual
* Must be at least 21+ years old
* Must have reliable transportation
* Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
