Espo's Restaurant Bar is actively hiring staff to join our team! A staple of Somerset County since 1974, Espo's has been a favorite Italian-American eatery for many generations. We are seeking qualified candidates to fill the following roles: Assistant Manager.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing operations related to guest services, dining room management, bar management, and staff supervision. The Assistant Manager will interact regularly with guests and focus on ensuring excellent overall experience. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the General Manager and Operating Owner on all aspects of food service, service standards, upholding brand value, and will have a strong focus on the bar program. The Assistant Managers focus is also staff training; working one on one with bartenders and servers, cultivating their skills, and improving steps of service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the bar program, implement seasonal cocktail menu changes, and train the bar staff in accordance with service
standards and SOPs.
Manage the bar inventory and work with the Operating Owner on placing liquor orders in accordance with current inventory
PAR levels and seasonal fluctuations.
Lead, train, and motivate front of the house staff, including servers, bartenders, and support staff.
Monitor and uphold service standards to ensure exceptional food and service to guests.
Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism and report accordingly to the Operating Owner.
Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager and Expeditor in all aspects of food service.
Promote a positive work culture, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
Handle cash management for shifts as required.
Manage special projects as assigned by the Operating Owner.
Adhere to all safety standards.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous FOH and Bar supervisory experience in a full-service restaurant setting.
Strong background in bartending, inventory control, and steps of service.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer service.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
