As a Cage Shift Manager, you will be a key leader in our Casino Cage operations, responsible for the accurate and efficient management of all financial transactions and assets during your shift. You will work closely with the Cage Operations Manager and other Shift Managers to safeguard company funds, maintain a robust control environment, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role demands strong leadership, financial acumen, and a commitment to delivering superior guest service. You will also play a crucial role in developing and mentoring your team.
Manage the overall daily operations of Casino Cages, Main Cages, and Vaults through subordinate Supervisors on your assigned shift.
Ensure company funds and assets are safeguarded, and that accountability is properly maintained and balanced according to prescribed procedures. Oversee the management of vault funds, including amounts in excess of $4 million.
Ensure strict compliance with all Cage policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements (CNGC, IRS, and OHRC as applicable).
Schedule, hire, train, and performance manage department staff to ensure competency, build knowledge, and provide for succession planning. Evaluate and provide feedback to staff and management regarding customer service execution.
Assist in the identification, development, and implementation of process efficiencies.
Report any suspicious activity to appropriate management, Security, and/or Surveillance personnel. Work with Accounting/Security/Surveillance to investigate unusual or suspicious activity, including cashier variances.
Ensure equipment required for guest financial services (ATM, Check Cashing, Cash Advance, Ticket Redemption, etc.) is functioning as designed.
Manage relationships with other departments to meet business demands.
Associate's Degree and 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven ability to lead a team effectively.
Ability to proficiently operate basic office equipment, computers, and standard computer programs (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make sound decisions.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Ability to obtain and maintain licensing by the appropriate gaming authority.
Comfortable working in an indoor, office-type climate with exposure to smoke, extreme temperatures, fumes, loud noises, dirt, dust, and unpleasant odors.
Ability to handle average-weight objects up to 25 lbs, with prolonged sitting, some standing, and walking required.
