Job Summary:

The Lodging Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing custodial and housekeeping field support within the lodging department. In line with the department's mission of delivering legendary service, the ADHS ensures that seasonal managers have access to efficient, intuitive systems and are thoroughly equipped by the lodging support office to excel in both operational processes and guest service. This role requires a proactive approach, with a focus on continually enhancing both the tools we use, and the support provided.

The Details:Position Type: Full-Time, Year-RoundPay: Starting salary is $75,000 and up depending upon experience Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of lodging operational systems, technology platforms, and support processes for housekeeping and custodial operations
  • Serve as the primary administrator and support resource for lodging technology systems including Opera PMS/ORS, Canary, Linenmaster, Dayforce, E-Tip, Cloud Suite Applications, and related software platforms
  • Manage the Lodging Support office and provide leadership, coaching, training, and mentorship to housekeeping and custodial operations managers and support staff
  • Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance management efforts for lodging, housekeeping, and custodial teams
  • Develop, maintain, and update operational manuals, training materials, checklists, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across lodging operations
  • Partner with Learning & Development to deliver effective training programs and establish measurable key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate training effectiveness and operational performance
  • Monitor labor, expenses, purchasing, inventory, payroll/timekeeping, and departmental revenue performance while supporting budgeting and forecasting initiatives
  • Oversee department purchasing and inventory management processes, including supply forecasting, warehouse replenishment, equipment distribution, and expense reconciliation
  • Analyze guest satisfaction data and operational feedback to identify opportunities for service improvements, workflow optimization, and enhanced guest and employee experiences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Sustainability, Engineering, Guest Services, and operational leadership to support system enhancements, projects, safety initiatives, and operational improvements
  • Provide field and operational support as needed across lodging departments including housekeeping, custodial, laundry, front desk, and campground operations

Qualifications

  • Must be 19 years of age and possess a valid US Driver's License; clear of restrictions and ability to safely operate vehicles of all sizes and capabilities
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Expertise in current Xanterra computer systems, including Opera, Cloudsuite, and Dayforce
  • Expertise in managing, creating, and receiving purchasing orders
  • High emotional intelligence - the ability to create and maintain strong working relationships
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • Experience with and mastery of complex lodging related computer programs
  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience: Prior experience managing at a hotel operation (Operations Management, Housekeeping, Front Office, Campgrounds)

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds as needed throughout the day; lifting and carrying of supplies sporadically throughout the day
  • Making beds, bending, kneeling, stretching, and reaching as needed
  • Standing for long periods, frequent walking up and down stairs, as well as in outdoor areas sporadically throughout the day
  • Speaking clearly in front of large audiences for several hours
  • Sitting and typing at a computer for extended periods
