Assistant Manager Housekeeping - Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach, Florida Fins up! Position Overview: The Assistant Housekeeping Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting the overall operations of the housekeeping department. This individual is responsible for supervising daily activities, conducting guest room inspections, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service throughout the resort. In addition to overseeing inventory and supply usage, monitoring team timesheets, and assisting with labor management, this role also involves handling guest feedback, performing administrative tasks, and supporting the Executive Housekeeper with department needs. What You'll Do: Provide strong leadership and direction to all team members within the department, ensuring a cohesive and productive team environment. Demonstrate keen attention to detail and the ability to make sound decisions, even in demanding and fast-paced environments. Train, motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline staff according to written policies and procedures, fostering a culture of excellence and professionalism. Support the Executive Housekeeper with operational tasks and departmental needs as required to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Monitor daily labor and review timesheets to ensure team members are clocking in and out according to their scheduled shifts, addressing any discrepancies. Assist with inventory management of housekeeping supplies, ensuring stock levels are adequate and usage is tracked appropriately. Coordinate room readiness with front office and maintenance departments, ensuring seamless guest arrivals and fulfilling service requests promptly. Conduct property inspections of all rooms, including out-of-service, VIP, and cleaned rooms, to uphold and maintain quality standards consistently. Provide clear direction to housekeeping staff, delegating the workload effectively to maximize productivity and ensure guest satisfaction. Monitor and ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies, providing comprehensive training to employees and adhering to safety protocols. Report any issues related to furniture, fixtures, decor needs, etc., promptly to relevant departments for resolution. Perform any other duties assigned, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility to meet the needs of the business operations. What We're Looking For: Minimum of 1+ year experience in a hotel supervisory role, preferably in housekeeping operations. Thorough knowledge of housekeeping procedures, property layout, and departmental workflows. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a hands-on leadership style that thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments Basic computer proficiency is required. Physically capable of lifting to 50 lbs. unassisted and able to bend, twist, walk long distances, and stand for extended periods throughout the day.
