Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and assist with the setup, service, and clean-up of all assigned banquet functions to ensure smooth operations
  • Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to meet event specifications and guest expectations
  • Oversee banquet staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of service and professionalism
  • Monitor event progress and address any issues promptly to maintain quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and alcohol regulations, including verifying proper alcohol service
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to facilitate successful event execution
  • Assist in training and mentoring new staff members as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas before, during, and after events

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related hospitality field
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in a related field is helpful
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid Alcohol Awareness Certification in accordance with state regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively
  • Strong decision-making skills, capable of evaluating and selecting among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle stressful situations with professionalism
  • Demonstrated initiative and proactive approach to job responsibilities
  • Strong oral communication skills and a customer/client-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
