Bar Manager
General Position Summary:
Responsible for the management of casino floor bars and Event/Banquet employees. Organizes for maximum efficiency, including scheduling, hiring, training, disciplining and evaluating. Operates within the budget established by the Food and Beverage Director. Responsible for the set-up and the daily operations of the casino floor bars and Events/Banquets, to include greeting guests, cash transactions, and special events ensuring a positive guest experience. Responsible for ordering and inventory controls for liquor, wine and beer. Also includes product price recommendations to meet budget financial goals.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Supervision and management of Casino floor bars and Event/Banquet employees, including hiring, evaluations, training, disciplinary actions, and recommendations of terminations
Monitors and ensures compliance of regulations regarding health and safety of both guests and employees
Promotes good guest relations
Coordinates with Marketing department in the planning and implementing of Restaurant promotions and special events
Coordinates with Security in the planning of special events for the protection of both guests and employees
Responsible for cleanliness, Casino floor bar and Event/Banquet bar employees, and overall appearance of Casino floor bars and Event/Banquet bars
Responsible for establishing wait sections for staff members
Responsible for staff scheduling based on projected revenue and tracking labor daily, weekly and monthly for payroll
Responsible for following monthly budgetary guidelines as set forth by F&B Director with particular emphasis on Payroll
Monitors time and attendance daily and is responsible for preparing specific venue’s labor reports, etc for a smooth payroll process
Meet and Greet guests, exceed their expectations and say, “Thank you for joining us and please come back,” as they leave
Responsible for filling in for employees who do not make their scheduled shifts either on the Cash Register, wait staff, bartending or serving
Responsible for Banquets/Events other than Lawn Events to include setup & breakdown with emphasis on speed of service or maximizing revenue
Any other duties as deemed necessary by the Food & Beverage Director
Secondary Functions:
Other duties as deemed necessary.
Specific Job Skills:
Knowledge and skills in all aspects of operating Liquor Beer Wine Casino bars along with Event and banquet bar
Ability to supervise and provide efficient operational direction to Casino Bar and Event/Banquet bar employees
Experienced in providing excellent guest service, able to handle disputes and problem solve conflicts
Experience in staff development and training
Excellent math skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of Food and Beverage procedures and cash transactions
Understands, adheres to and enforces all guidelines and policies of the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board
QualificationsEducation and/or Experience:
High School diploma or GED required. Two (2) years of supervisory experience in Food and Beverage Industry. Must be 21 years of age. Must obtain a TIPS card within 60 days of employment and possess a food handler card. Obtains Serv Safe certification within 6 months of employment.
Job Conditions:
Working conditions include working in a Casino, Event Center and office setting with a computer and other equipment. Other conditions include being able to work both day and night shifts. Conditions will also include frequent interruptions, and working evenings, weekends and holidays and in a smoke-filled environment. Includes being on-call 24/7.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 lbs. lbs. while standing, twisting, or bending. Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time. Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computers, adding machine and routine paperwork.
