Hotel Emma is seeking a passionate, servicedriven hospitality leader to join our Housekeeping team as Assistant Director of Housekeeping. This role supports the Director of Housekeeping in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and guest experience throughout the hotel.

Purpose of the Role

The Assistant Director of Housekeeping partners closely with the Director to manage all aspects of the Housekeeping operation, providing leadership, operational oversight, and administrative support to deliver a seamless and elevated guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and, in the Director's absence, oversee all daily operations of the Housekeeping department.
  • Manage administrative functions including scheduling, payroll support, reporting, and system updates.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train new Housekeeping associates.
  • Coach, counsel, and maintain accountability and performance standards within the department.
  • Coordinate and prioritize daily work assignments to ensure operational efficiency and service excellence.
  • Maintain an organized and professional Housekeeping office environment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate updates to Housekeeping information in hotel systems.
  • Oversee Lost & Found procedures, including documentation, inventory control, and secure storage.
  • Maintain control and inventory of keys and hotel communication devices.
  • Ensure safe handling and use of chemicals in compliance with Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) guidelines.
  • Model professionalism by reporting to work on time, in proper uniform, and in accordance with company policy.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with all Hotel Emma policies and procedures.
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment by proactively engaging with guests and fellow associates.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support department and hotel operations.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with guests and colleagues.
  • Professional presence that reflects and upholds the Hotel Emma culture and service philosophy.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience, including at least 1 year in housekeeping management within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Flexible availability required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
