Were seeking a dedicated Dining Room Supervisor to lead our front-of-house dining team. This role involves training staff, managing schedules, and ensuring a high-quality dining experience for residents and guests. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with hospitality experience, excellent service standards, and a commitment to resident satisfaction and operational excellence.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead comprehensive onboarding for new servers, including preparing and maintaining training materials. Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship.
- Assist in creating and managing front-of-house staff schedules, including shift assignments to ensure adequate coverage.
- Manage daily opening and closing procedures, ensuring smooth transitions and consistency across shifts.
- Develop, implement, and uphold standardized checklists, dining room layouts, and station assignments to streamline service.
- Prepare daily lineup notes and lead engaging pre-shift meetings to communicate updates and reinforce service expectations.
- Deliver ongoing training focused on menu knowledge, wine service, and culinary terminology to enhance team performance.
- Ensure menus are up to date, printed, and distributed regularly; maintain accuracy in the POS system.
- Oversee OpenTable to reflect accurate dining room availability, special events, and resident preferences.
- Ensure top-tier service standards and address guest or resident concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a visible presence in the dining rooms, addressing resident inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with relevant departments, including Resident Services and Marketing to staff and execute special events (e.g., wine dinners, holiday celebrations, cocktail receptions, etc.).
- Monitor and manage inventory for wine, liquor, beer, uniforms, tableware, and office supplies.
- Step into server, host, bartender, or to-go roles as needed to maintain service continuity.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the success of the Dining Department.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; a bachelors degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in the hospitality industry, with an emphasis on fine dining and/or restaurant management.
- Familiarity with dining practices, regulations, and compliance requirements related to long-term care or senior living environments.
- Strong understanding of fine dining service standards, planning, and operations.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, staff, and external partners.
- Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service with creativity, professionalism, and a resident-focused approach.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and comfort with database and reservation platforms such as OpenTable.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work with limited supervision.
