St Julien Hotel & Spa is seeking a hands-on Supervisor for Jill's Restaurant to provide leadership and guidance to all department associates, and who will support the Jill’s Restaurant Management team in overseeing the day-to-day operations of three interconnected outlets: Jill’s Restaurant & Bistro, In-Room Dining, and the daytime outdoor terrace (open seasonally).

Essential Job Functions:

  • Remain knowledgeable of all restaurant/IRD positions and their respective duties in order to facilitate cohesive and thorough training, answer all guest inquiries satisfactorily, and to be able to seamlessly fill in/assist staff as needed.
  • Effectively train staff so that they are able and empowered to consistently provide service that meets the Hotel’s luxury service standards.
  • Hold all staff accountable to the policies and procedures of the Hotel; communicate performance expectations and provide ongoing, honest, and productive feedback.
  • Handle guest complaints with courtesy and expediency to the standards of St Julien Hotel & Spa, elevating larger issues to the attention of Jill’s upper management.
  • Treat associates with respect and dignity in regards to scheduling, diversity, appreciation/recognition, suggestions for improvement, and other pertinent job-related issues.
  • Assist with coaching and counseling of associates when appropriate and within boundaries of authority.
  • Monitor staff’s compliance with safe/sanitary food and beverage handling and responsible alcohol service; issue corrective guidance and/or disciplinary action as needed.
  • Help facilitate daily pre-shift meetings and quarterly staff meetings; collaborate with Jill’s management on the content and execution of all meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure that potential guest issues are addressed and resolved quickly and without interrupting the guests’ experience.
  • Continually search for ways to improve procedures, training, interviewing, and other Hotel services.
  • Other duties as requested by manager.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ supervisory and/or management experience required. Must be well-versed in restaurant operations and capable of executing all essential duties listed.
  • Previous fine dining and/or luxury hospitality experience highly preferred.
  • Must be able to stand for several hours at a time and be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a frequent basis.
  • Valid TIPS/ServSafe certification required, or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
  • Open and flexible availability is required. Interested candidates must be able to work weekends, holidays, and mornings/evenings as-needed .
