Summary of Position:
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the Housekeeping Department. The position supervises all housekeeping associates and coordinates with all property departments to meet all High Country Motor Lodge quality standards.
Essential Functions:
* Oversee staffing needs, including interviewing, hiring, training, providing guidance and counseling, and conducting performance evaluations.
* Plan, organize and monitor staff activities to ensure adherence to the hotel's quality assurance standards, which includes continuous visual inspections of guest rooms and public areas such as the lobby, bar, restrooms, meeting space, spa experience, etc.
* Provide one-on-one coaching to Housekeeping Supervisors to strengthen their technical housekeeping knowledge and enhance their leadership skills.
* Conduct performance inspections of Room Attendants upon completion of room servicing to ensure accommodations meet established standards.
* Conduct performance inspections of House Attendants and Public Attendants throughout their daily shifts to ensure all assigned areas are clean and meet established standards.
* Conduct performance inspections of Laundry Attendants throughout their daily shifts to ensure all laundry is handled promptly and meets quality standards.
* Assist the Assistant General Manager and General Manager in monitoring overall staff performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, including completing performance evaluations throughout the year and annually for all housekeeping line staff.
* Maintain detailed records of rotational deep cleans, suite cleans, and carpet cleaning programs.
* Maintain a monthly inventory of all supplies across the housekeeping department and assist with ordering as needed.
* Support resolution of staff-related challenges, including scheduling, disciplinary actions, incentive program coordination, etc.
* Communicate and collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless and personalized guest service.
* Facilitate prompt delivery of guest requests and errands to enhance the guest experience.
* Demonstrate the ability to resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area at all times to reflect a welcoming environment.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager or General Manager.
* Ability to communicate with vendors and order appropriately with approval from the General Manager.
Qualifications:
Education: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High School Diploma required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 to 4 years of supervisor experience in Housekeeping required; hotel experience is highly preferred.
Certificates or Licenses: Certification in sanitation, chemical handling, or safety is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise team member effectively.
* Capable of making quick, efficient decisions that support both team performance and guest satisfaction.
* Ability to memorize and consistently uphold the organization's Purpose, Pillars, and Service Standards.
* Proficient in using moderately complex computer systems and troubleshooting software issues.
* Knowledge of basic sanitation standards and proper use and application of cleaning chemicals.
Personal Characteristics:
Behaves ethically, honestly, and leads with a hands-on, appreciative and detail orientated style.
Communicates effectively: Speaks and listens and engages in a clear, thorough, and timely manner, effectively reading and writing, using the English language.
Professional Appearance: Maintains an appearance appropriate for professional environment. (Specific grooming standards are available upon request or for review.)
