The Assistant Hotel Manager plays a key role in ensuring an exceptional guest experience by managing front desk operations and overseeing guest services. While this role does not involve direct leadership of staff, the Assistant Hotel Manager is responsible for:
- Guest Reservations & Services : Managing room bookings, coordinating dinner reservations, scheduling activities, and occasionally arranging spa appointments in advance.
- Guest Experience : Checking in guests and ensuring their needs are met throughout their stay, addressing any concerns promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Interdepartmental Communication : Acting as the central point of communication between guests, housekeeping, and other departments to ensure seamless service and timely responses to guest needs.
- Welcome arriving guests and complete the hotels arrival/check-in experience, ensuring special requests are fulfilled and accurate information is received.
- Engage in purposeful communication and build rapport with guests, creating an open dialogue to uncover guest expectations and unrealized needs.
- Effectively engage with guests through phone or email communication consistent with hotel brand standards to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Effectively communicate with hotel departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of guest expectations, fulfillment of needs, and challenge resolution.
- Answer phones, make dinner reservations for restaurant guests, and occasionally assist with hosting in the restaurant.
- Always maintain professionalism consistent with hotel brand and company expectations.
- 2+ years of customer service experience, preferably in hotel, hospitality or related industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in primary language used in the workplace
- Physical:
- 8+ hours per day at standing desk/computer; stand and walk frequently throughout the workday
- Lift, lower, and maneuver up to 30 pounds occasionally
