Dream Downtown seeks an enthusiastic Hotel Professional to join our Rooms Leadership Team as Hotel Operations Manager. This role will be focused on selling the hotel product, providing efficient service and meaningful experiences; you will be part of a team passionate about lifestyle hospitality, committed to nurturing curiosity and new skills and building connections with guests and colleagues across the hotel. This position reports to the hotel’s Director of Front Office.

The Role

The Hotel Operations Manager (Rooms) is responsible for all supporting the overall Guest Experience throughout the Rooms Division. While the role will predominately focus on the the front desk operation, it may also include Guest Services and Housekeeping. Responsiblities may include\: staff training, inter-department communications, problem solving, and guest concern resolution. The Hotel Operations Manager (Rooms) should possess strong communication skills and demonstrate effective leadership abilities.

Duties include\:

  • Maintain guest room inventory
  • Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt Service Standards and Procedures
  • Perform all tasks of a Front Office Staff as needed to facilitate service
  • Ensure all operations and cash handling are done per policies and procedures
  • Maintain excellent communication with the housekeeping department
  • Maintain information on prices, rates, specials, packages, programs, etc, while ensuring all staff are trained in all areas
  • Analyze, investigate, and resolve guest complaints
  • Create expectations, lead people, manage processes, and hold people accountable for the agreed upon activities and time tables
  • Insures proper staffing levels for customer service goals

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $64,350 to $79,400. This position is also eligible to earn an quarterly bonus. The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.

Experience Required\:

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
  • 2 years or more of progressive hotel Rooms Management experience (typically with Hyatt)
  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
  • Must possess the following strengths\: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays

Experience Preferred\:

  • Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset
