Position Summary:

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the housekeeping team to ensure a clean, orderly, and inviting environment for guests and employees. This role is responsible for inspecting rooms and public areas, managing staff assignments, ensuring compliance with safety and cleanliness standards, and supporting the overall guest experience.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the work of housekeeping staff, including room attendants, housepersons, and laundry attendants.

Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and safety standards are met.

Assign daily work schedules and monitor task completion.

Provide training and ongoing guidance to housekeeping staff on proper cleaning procedures, use of equipment, and guest service standards.

Address and resolve guest requests, concerns, or complaints related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.

Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and linens and assist with ordering as needed.

Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including proper use of chemicals and equipment.

Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Front Office, Maintenance) to coordinate service and maintenance needs.

Assist with performance reviews, staff motivation, and disciplinary actions as required.

Ensure lost and found items are handled according to hotel policies.

Smile and greet every guest especially when theyre in proximity.

Provide quick and efficient service.

Remember guest names and use them often in interactions.

Offer assistance and provide options to guests.

Emphasize creating a positive guest experience and building lasting connections by thanking guests and inviting them back.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Previous housekeeping supervisory experience (1-3 years preferred, depending on property type).

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to lead, motivate, and train team members effectively.

Good communication skills; ability to interact professionally with staff and guests.

Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Basic computer skills for scheduling and reporting.
