Colwen Hotels is a dynamic and growing hotel company, proudly managing an extraordinary portfolio of award-winning properties. We are seeking a hands-on, experienced, and results-driven Regional Hotel Director of Operations to join our leadership team.
This role is ideal for a seasoned hotel operations professional with a strong background in extended stay, select-service, independent, and lifestyle hotels—plus solid food and beverage expertise. You’ll play a key leadership role, driving operational excellence and profitability across multiple properties, and helping shape strategic growth initiatives. This position is based in the Greater Boston region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide complete operational oversight for assigned hotels, including financial performance, guest satisfaction, and team development.
- Lead and mentor General Managers and property leadership teams through coaching, training, and regular site visits.
- Analyze and respond to financial statements, STR and revenue reports, guest feedback, and QA assessments to drive improvements.
- Collaborate with Sales and Revenue Management to develop property-specific strategies to increase occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR.
- Conduct periodic property inspections and ensure adherence to brand and ownership standards.
- Lead hiring, performance evaluations, and succession planning for hotel leadership.
- Drive quality and service standards across all departments, including food & beverage operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with ownership groups and key stakeholders.
- Support consistent implementation of Colwen Hotels policies, programs, and strategic initiatives.
- Stay informed on industry trends and competitive practices to inform business strategy.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience as a Regional Director of Operations or Area Hotel General Manager.
- Experience with both branded (Marriott, Hilton, IHG) and independent hotel properties.
- Strong financial acumen and operational discipline.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Deep understanding of food & beverage operations.
- Strong analytical mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
- Willingness to travel frequently to assigned properties.
