Food & Beverage Manager - River Course

Centrally located on the island, perched on the beautifu Kiawah River just a short drive from the main gate sits the River Course. Nestled behind the 18th green of the Tom Fazio-designed golf course of the same name, the River Course features a Lowcountry-inspired restaurant led by Kiawah Island Club Chef Kelly Lucas. In addition to a la carte lunch and dinner service, the River Course also hosts the Club's biggest events including weddings, parties, 4th of July celebrations, and our annual Rock the River festival on Thanksgiving weekend, featuring past performances by Darius Rucker, Sheryl Crow, and Lionel Richie, to name a few. The Clubhouse also houses the beautiful Men and Women's Locker Rooms, Snack Bar, and Comfort Station out on the golf course.

A Food and Beverage Manager at Kiawah Island Club requires attentiveness, outstanding customer service skills, a strong work ethic and the ability to be proactive and exceed Members and guests' expectations. This position offers a rare opportunity for a Food and Beverage Manager with a passion for fine dining, wine, and luxury service. Our Food and Beverage Managers are hands-on supervisors that work alongside staff to ensure outstanding service and smooth operation of shifts. A Kiawah Island Club Food and Beverage Manager will be an expert at welcoming our guests into our home with warmth, enthusiasm, and grace in this fast-paced, multi-faceted, club restaurant. Service periods will include Lunch and Dinner as well as private events throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Opening/closing procedures
• Event set-up and service
• Overseeing/supporting the Club's seasoned food and beverage service staff
• Apply empathy to every person so they may create and maintain our Members' loyalty, while ranking their teammate's needs even higher

Qualifications

• Two years of food and beverage management experience at an upscale restaurant, resort, or private club preferable
• You must have a positive, outgoing personality, and a professional image
• Passion for hospitality and willingness to work as part of an effective team is required
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Strong wine knowledge and mixology experience is preferred
• Professional phone etiquette
• Reliable transportation
