Job SummaryAs the Retail Food Service Manager , you will lead the day-to-day operations of the retail and cafeteria services within a large acute care hospital. With a focus on quality, safety, and exceptional customer service, you will oversee retail operation and collaborate with the Executive Chef and Patient Services Manager to deliver an outstanding dining experience. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and a passion for retail foodservice excellence.
Key Responsibilities:Manage and coordinate all retail dining services, including menu execution, marketing, and customer service.
Plan and supervise special functions and promotional events.
Maintain cash handling controls, ensure accurate payroll records, and oversee hiring and training of hourly team members.
Implement corporate policies, safety procedures, and service standards.
Train staff on portioning, cashiering, sanitation, and guest service skills.
Communicate effectively with team members, hospital staff, and guests.
Monitor compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory guidelines.
Complete all required reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Lead and coach a team of 4 supervisors and 35 hourly associates to achieve performance and customer satisfaction goals.
Bachelors Degree in Food Services Management, Hospitality, or a related field; or Associate's Degree with 3+ years of related experience.
13 years of foodservice management experience, preferably in a high-volume retail or healthcare environment.
Experience with P&L accountability and contract-managed services.
Strong understanding of food trends, cost controls, and retail marketing strategies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, point-of-sale systems, and other operational tools.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership and team development abilities.
