The Casino Shift Manager plays a crucial role in the daily management of casino operations, with a primary focus on the player services department. This position involves directing and supervising player services administrators and representatives, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery to guests. The Shift Manager actively participates in operational planning, budget management, and the implementation of casino programs and promotions. - Direct and supervise the activities of player services administrators and player services representatives, providing guidance and support.
- Establish work priorities, create staff schedules, and conduct performance evaluations, including orientation, counseling, and training of employees.
- Contribute to the development of training materials to enhance the skills and knowledge of the player services team.
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of casino operations, ensuring effective coordination with other departments.
- Conduct regular shift meetings with player services staff and department managers to disseminate critical information regarding employees, guests, and promotional activities.
- Develop and manage the departmental operating budget, preparing regular financial reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
- Represent the casino at community functions and events as required.
- Maintain the highest standards of internal and external guest service at all times.
- Ensure strict adherence to all relevant regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in casino operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and team coordination.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, organizational, presentation, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to identify and implement effective solutions to operational challenges.
- Exceptional money handling skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid liquor license.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required licensing from the appropriate gaming authority.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
