Paradise Key Dockside Bar & Grill is seeking a professional Chef/kitchen manager to take the helm of our newly rebuilt and remodeled kitchen. We are a four-year-old, high-volume, high-quality seafood and steak restaurant and bar, set in perhaps the most beautiful venue on the Coastal Bend. We sit right on the water in scenic Rockport, directly across from the Conservation District, and enjoy panoramic views of Aransas Bay and its abundant wildlife. Though still small by most standards, Rockport is growing fast and is a great place to live. Whether you enjoy fishing, sailing, paddle-boarding, kayaking, scuba-diving, surfing or just hanging out on the beach, you will love living in Rockport. Though Hurricane Harvey did severe damage to Rockport and Paradise Key, we both are rebuilding, coming back bigger and better than before.
We are seeking an experienced Chef/kitchen manager who can help us build a high-performing team, manage costs, and grow the business with an eye toward opening one or two more units within the next few years. The right candidate will of course know how to prepare great dishes; but, more importantly, know how to train and build a great team. We are looking for a leader to captain our kitchen, develop the crew, and build the processes and systems to achieve and sustain profitable growth. For the right candidate, the opportunity grow into the AGM or GM positions is wide open. We are offering above the market starting salary (approximately $50,000, depending on experience), with very high bonus potential, to include profit sharing, tied to clearly defined and measurable performance goals against food cost, labor cost, and revenues. This is a very hands-on position with very hands on owners.

You right candidate will:
-have at least 3 years management experience with strong references
-have a deep understanding of kitchen work flow, labor management, and food cost management
-be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word (or equivalents), and preferably have experience with back of the house software such as QSROnline.
-be skilled in recipe development and menu planning
-have demonstrable skills in training and developing kitchen talent
-have a great attitude and great leadership skills
