t include: Assist in the overall effectiveness and productivity of the Housekeeping department. Assist with managing the departments day-to-day operations. Assures the overall cleanliness, upkeep and customer service maintaining hotel standards.Coordinate and oversee Suite Services Supervisors job duties and responsibilities. Assist with department traning, coaching and counseling. Assist in all scheduling and staffing requirements. Follow up on complaints or problems relating to guest or internal situations. Must have working knowledge of Status Board, Payroll and Scheduling functions. Works closely with Hotel operation personnel, Facilities, Food and Beverage and other support departments. Implements effective policies and procedures to accomodate department operation. Conducts and follow up on property inspections to ensure quality standards are met. Responsible to make certain adequate supplies and linen levels are efficient. Knowledge of chemicals, material control, purchasing and requisitions. Assist with the overall department safety and security. Complies with all company policies and procedures. Attends hotel division meetings and functions. Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years Housekeeping department head in major Housekeeping department operationStrong written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of various cleaning chemicals and apparatus. Extensive knowledge of OSHA hazard communication MSDS and blood borne pathogen standards. Knowledge of the proper cleaning and maintenance techniques of all hard floor surfaces, fabrics and textiles. Knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (Culinary Contract). Knowledge of industrial cleaning. Ability to manage a large diverse Housekeeping staff. Must have the skills and abilities to perform the duties of line employees in emergency situations. Must be able to work independently with all co-workers. Must be able to make rational decisions and maintain the harmony in the department ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Physical, Mental, And Environmental Demands:Must be able to stoop, bend, push, pull and carry up to 75 pounds. Must be able to maneuver in hotel/casino areas to include walking up and down stairs. Must have good finger movement and dexterity. Must be able to operate cleaning equipment to include vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors etc. Must be able to effectively utilize office machines to include computers, telephones, fax, copy machines etc. Must be able to tolerate second hand smokeJob .
