What we are seeking is somewhat of a unique position; the owners--Connie and Danny--manage all aspects of the day to day operation, including bookeeping, promotions, etc. What we are seeking in a manager is someone who has experience managing the FOH operations, has excellent people skills--with employees as well as customers--who pays intense attention to detail, and who likes late hours. The hours we need filled are: 4pm-2am Weds-Saturday. The hours and even days are somewhat negotiable; we are contemplating hiring two people--one for the restaurant hours, and one for the late night bar hours. The restaurant hours are business as usual for most restaurants; after 9:30 Weds-Sat we basically turn into a nightclub, featuring dj's, bands, and karaoke. To manage the bar hours, potential hirees must: know ALE laws, have experience working with a security staff, be friendly and courteous to intoxicated and sometimes aggravating people, but also possess the attitude to put a drunk in their place as well. Managing these hours requires patience, temperence, and courage, and will keep you up late at night. Now, anyone who's been in this business knows outright that this can be a very fun job as well. The owners know this and want this--if you're having fun, so will the employees and guests. But it's EXTREMELY important to remember to not get too caught up in the fun. Remember that you are regulating the party as well as throwing it. Customers and employees need to know that you are fun to talk to, but that you are firm and serious as well. Again, this job does not entail many of the duties of an average restaurant 'manager', since the owners run the place. What we need is a dedicated, HONEST, dependable person with the skills listed above, and who wants to be a part of the fastest growing spot in Albemarle. Some statistics: Two weeks ago, we were informed that we were Silver Eagle's (Budweiser distributor) number one growing account; last week we learned we are US Foods number one growing account. This is a ride you will love, enjoy, and gain confidence from--if you have it in you. The hardest part (it seems) about this job is remaining honest. Never think that the owners don't know everything that's going on. They are known by their employees as some of the best bosses ever; we take great care of those who take care of us, but likewise, don't waste our time with people who think they can snowball us.
