This position may lead to a full-time management position within the company. Job details as follows... PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: This position prepares and executes the catering function for any events at the facility that includes all catering venues including but not limited to Portland Beavers Baseball, Portland Timbers Soccer, and PSU Viking Football; promotes and implements sales strategies for new and existing business. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Responsible for driving revenue into department by reaching out to guests and selling product packages. ? Work with Park sales staff to compile list of possible event dates and client contact info. ? Responsible for all catered functions from origination to execution, including the delegation of responsibilities. ? Generate new business and maintain contact with present accounts. ? Handle customer complaints and rectify problem situations. ? Arrange for the rental of tables, video, audio equipment, game equipment and linens. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: ? Two to four years experience in catering/banquet field, one year in a supervisory capacity. ? Must possess a general knowledge of food and beverage procedures, controls, and administration as well as a complete awareness and ability to perform all catering positions. ? Safely lift and balance a tray weighing 35 pounds, then proceed to walk and carry this tray for a distance of 150 feet ? Must be able to read and comprehend a BEO, diagram and any other documents to ensure that the guests? needs are met ? Must be capable of lifting a case of water that weighs approximately 39 lbs. ? Ability to physically walk approximately one-fourth (¼) of a mile and the circumference of the unit several times a day Position is hourly and will require (but is not guaranteed) overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays - including the 4th of July. Schedule is event-driven and subject to change with less than 48 hours notice.
